How is your kitchen progressing?

I am starting to get very excited as my whole house is about two weeks away from being finished. It looks amazing. The kitchen just needs a few finishing details and it is all done. I have been reading everyones post and was curious where everyone was in their kitchen progress. What stage are you at?

We are doing a full kitchen remodel in our 1993 colonial. down to the studs 2Weeks ago. Drywall and electrical last week. We painted, so did that this week. Cabinets in next week, so hopefully all set in 2 Weeks, other than pendants and backsplash.

Slowly... Started March 14th and it's finally starting to look like a kitchen! Probably won't be finished until the beginning of August, but I finally got my dishwasher back after 71 days, and that makes me more happy than I can describe! I'm happy that your kitchen is coming together so nicely!

Essentially, after 13 months, I am ABB. Have not selected tile yet. I am working on the punchlist -- still making panels for the fridge and a few other minor things.

Stalled.... We started at the end of January, and now have plywood countertops, and everything but hood, and ceiling lights. Waiting on wood to dry for the counters!

We are also doing a full kitchen remodel in our 1994 home. Last week we dealt with the cabinets and soffits being removed, plumbing and electrical work, drywalling, sanding, and respackling of the ceiling. So far this week it has been more sanding, priming, and painting. All cabinets were moved into the kitchen prior to July 4th. Hopefully they can start to install cabinets on Thurs.

7 weeks in to total kitchen/first floor reno. Load bearing wall down and steel support beam in. New windows/doors in. Rough framing done. Rough electric mostly done. Just signed off on final cabinet plan. Construction of cabs starts this week. So far, so good.

We're doing a whole house remodel on our little 1200 sq ft home that we bought just a year ago. We hope to retire there someday.
Last labor day we started to redo half the house and yesterday our drywall started going up! The other half (incl. the kitchen) is still circa 1974.

I can only imagine how excited you are to be 2 weeks away!

6 years into the reno/rebuild, I'm coming along.

My current project is taking wine crate panels and making door and drawer fronts for my credenza.

    Just another project.
Gotta change a few cabinets out again, maybe soon put down my floor.

    Who knows?

Tentatively scheduled to start May 2013, currently burning through a ton of graph paper for layouts and doing a ton of research both online and in person. Hoping to have something worthy of posting for feedback soon! Starting to get preliminary cabinet quotes too, if they ever show up, two weeks and counting with no email...

Started mid-May. It's all useable. We're working on the trim and paint touchup, but the backsplash will probably wait for awhile. I wander around feeling like it's someone else's (in a good way).

We started our DIY kitchen reno on Feb 1st and since this past weekend I am finally working in it. The last thing I needed for it to be fully operational was the sink, faucet and dishwasher. The undercabinet lighting went in yesterday and I am still deciding on pendants. Once I do that, we can get our final electric inspection. We still need to do all the trim, finish painting, and add the backsplash. But it's really great to actually be working in the kitchen again!

We are half DIY and half pro. We started in May with a company called Kitchen Tuneup who came in and did a fabulous job sprucing up our solid ash cabinets. He cleaned and refinished them and put new modern inside hinges on. We then moved onto the countertop, just had Uba Tuba installed last week with a new stainless sink. Now we are working on paint and paper, stripping, etc. we started hanging Martha Stewart beadboard paintable paper. I love it!!! Hides some imperfections in 100 year old walls and looks spectacular. Next we will refinish out kitchen table and have a new floor installed. Still can't decide what, though. We have 3 dogs, a cat and 4 active people here, so it needs to be indestructible. Will post pix when finished.

Stalled. Waiting for the stone yard to call to tell me my stone is in so I can go take a peek at it. The way this search has been going, my guess is it will be the earthtone Fusion and not the colorful one I really want. OYE!

DIYers here, and we're Stalled. We are living in a plywood kitchen. I want to move everything around while we wait for money for more materials, but DH is not interested in better function, just getting it done. I'm still hopeful.

Looking for a GC. Still. :( We thought we had one - we were all set to sign the contract. Until we found that he didn't have much detail in his agreement and there have already been a few times where he said one thing and then said another a bit later. We just don't want any more misunderstandings as we go down the road, if we can help it.

So, I have my design worked out and know what we want - we're looking for someone to do the work. Anyone know anybody good in the Pittsburgh area???

ABB, think we're just going to put it above the cooktop. Waiting for funds to re-accumulate. Oh wait, we have two kids in college, when's that gonna be? Good thing we did the kitchen before I found out I needed extensive dental work :) Also, the vintage milk glass towel rack needs to be put up, for some reason DH never seems to get around to it. I know, I'll start doing it, and he'll jump in. Psychology much?

Slowly . . . floor finally sanded/sealed; walls fixed and painted. Waiting for everything to dry thoroughly. Next is to install cabs then search out some sort of countertop - very undecided in that area. Up to this point, I still had a working kitchen but it's been one week with no sink and no stove . . . prepared food is not as romantic as I thought it would be!
