Electrolux Kitchen Appliances

Two months ago I purchased SEVEN (7) new Electrolux appliances feeding into the hype that these are so great. Since then, I have had the dishwasher replaced, the dryer repaired, and now the lights on this beautiful double oven flicker when using both ovens. The dishwasher STILL does not clean the dishes. One repairman told me my spoons were too long! Ha! I still can't believe that one. The first dishwasher that went bad had a faulty mechanism causing it to continually wash the dishes with DIRTY water. After starting the stupid thing and leaving town, I returned to a dishwasher full of mold! And NO, they have not replaced the dishes I had to throw away. I cannot recommend this product line to anyone that wants to lead a life without undue stress. This has been the worse experience. The most frustrating is that when you call for service, you cannot get past the person that answers the phone. Customer Service is not their niche. I am sick about it all. Perhaps I could use the sanitize mode on the dishwasher to sterilize the mold and use it as penicillin. Sorry, I am bitter, but thanks for reading, and don't waste you money on this product.

wow! I had read poor reviews about the washer/dryers when I was researching awhile back, but had no idea about the troubles of their other appliances. I finally settled on Samsung W/D and based on my experiences with these I'll look into Samsung's other appliances when the time comes.

    Thanks for sharing

I, too, am having major issues with a brand new Electrolux dishwasher. First time I used it, the bottom rack rolled right off the track and crashing into my new island. Luckily, no dishes broke. Called Electrolux and they said that this shipment was faulty (door opened more than 90 degrees) and they would end me a rubber piece to fix it. If they knew about the problem, why wouldn't they have either sent replacements out, or, included the rubber piece with the dishwasher?? They sent it, but without the instructions. Took me forever to get a decent customer service person and I wound up going through the appliance store to get someone to fix it. They came out and installed the piece. Problem solved.

But then the dishes weren't coming out clean; especially water bottles/thermoses. Again, service came out and said nothing was wrong and said that I needed to "clean my dishes better" before putting them in the dishwasher. Had them come back again and they installed something to make the water power/pressure stronger. That was yesterday and I haven't tested it yet.

But the dishwasher is horrible and their customer service is a joke.

So sorry to hear about the problems you've been experiencing. We too bought 8 new Electrolux appliances with our kitchen remodel. All were Icon series except for the beverage refrigerator. I'm curious if yours were this.

The only problem we've had is with the SxS refrigerator. Intermittently, the light and controls would not light up when you opened the door. After Electrolux sent two different repair companies out, they ended up replacing the entire unit. I have to say my experience with their customer service has been fine.

I haven't experienced the problems with our dishwasher that you've discribed, but certainly will be on the lookout for problems.

Ugh. I feel for you tollivlb. If you haven't already, you may want to post on the appliance forum too. I haven't bought them yet but after a (very painful) elimination process I had decided on the regular Electrolux oven and their downdraft vent. Is anyone having problems with them?

That's really disappointing to have happen. My sympathies to you!

Since the appliances are still under warranty perhaps you should verify your complaint with an email or return receipt. (Just in case the company drags their response etc past warranty date).

I have the 30" Electrolux, Icon induction cooktop and 36" exhaust hood, plus the 30" convection oven. So far (5 months) all are working well and I am very pleased with them.

As with other posters, I went with a different brand dishwasher, one with a better consumer review.

Good luck with your dealings with Electrolux's customer service!

A lot of Electrolux dishwashers are actually rebranded Maytag/Jenn-Air. Beware.
