Sink recommendation please

After a lot of researching, I've narrowed down my 'wishlist' for my new kitchen sink as follows:

- Silgranit

- Top mount

- Single bowl

- Approximately 30" wide

- Faucet to be seated on sink rim itself, not on counter

- Low profile rim

Any recommendations would be welcomed. I noted that the Kohler Vault and Blanco MicroEdge are both low profile sinks, but only available in stainless steel and I'd prefer granite to prevent scratches and water spots.

The only Blanco Silgranit I can see with a low profile edge is the PuraDur II series, which seem to be the UK product range instead of the US product range. Please do correct me if I am wrong.

Gosh, Tony, I'm wondering if no one on the forum today has a Silgranit sink. I have new Corstone, but it's still in the box so that's no help. Plus the sink I purchased is not the quality I believe you want. Mine is on the very bottom of the price range.

I'm wondering the same thing myself! :(

I did have a 'formed' sink, about 15 or so years ago and it crazed. Those tiny little lines, like little cracks in the finish. It was a Euro style sink with a formed drainboard but I don't recall who the mfr was.

Good luck on making a decision that works out well. I hope you will be posing photos as you go along. I have the 'Before' photos from the sales web site and will be taking 'After' pictures of each room as it's finish.

What about the Blanco Diamond Super Single. It's available in 7 colors and comes predrilled for single hole faucet on the sink rim. Additional holes can be added. I'm not sure if it's the edge profile you want but it looks fine to me.
I have a Blanco undermount sink in anthracite and I love it. There have been many threads regarding silgranite sinks. Try doing a google search for using the terms silgranite and gardenweb. It should lead you right to those threads.

Have you tried contacting Blanco through their website? I was having trouble seeing some of the sink colors locally and contacted them through the site and they responded pretty quickly that were going to send out samples. Maybe they answer questions quickly as well.

My Blanco arrives Tuesday, but I didn't get into the specifics of their other sinks while looking. Sorry that's not much help.

Thanks all. I have contacted Blanco and am waiting for their reply.

The Blanco Diamond Super Single is perfect...EXCEPT...for its depth. I think it's about ten inches, which would be about nine inches with the grid, but I was aiming for a net depth of about eight inches. I have a bad back and can't tolerate much leaning.

Sorry to hear that the sink is too deep. The specs say that the sink is 9 1/2 inches deep so if the grid raises it up an inch it would be at 8 1/2. If that's still too deep maybe you could find a generic/other brand grid that would be a little taller. Just a thought.

Seems that Blanco have the reputation for the granite type sinks, but you have to accept the fact that they're quite deep across their entire model selection :(
