Well -- instead of a garland -- how about adding a pretty wreath the sits on the console table -- with a big silverplate bowl? (or a china bowl or tureen that has your colors on it?)

Some of the wreaths have lights too -- so get one of those ones -- and it will look wonderful around the bowl!

You could fill the bowl with silver or gold Christmas balls OR holiday candy (guess which one appeals to me?? LOL!)

Hang a pretty wreath, with simple gold balls and gold bow or use the color of your walls for the bow, in the center of the mirror.
