BM Wish? Anyone?

Don't think I'm crazy, but i'm on my fifth paint sample from BM. First I tried Revere Pewter (too beige), Gray Owl (too green), Stonington Gray (too blue), Coventry Gray (too dark). This morning I tried Wish, which is the lightest of the bunch. It looks pretty good in the morning light but I did some googling and some folks say it has a purple undertone. I seem to recall someone (denali?) painted their bathroom in Wish but can't seem to find a photo. Anyone care to weigh in? I tried a search on this forum but since it's a common word I'm getting 700 results.

I seriously might just paint the room cream and be done with it. Gray is making me go gray! :-)

My friend Paige painted her spare room Wish--I'll try to get pictures of it. It's LOVELY. She has a red chair-and-a-half in that room...I don't recall any purple undertones.

Try Baltic Gray, and any of the colors on that strip. Love them.

thanks! msjee, I would love to see photos of your friend's room. There isn't much out there in the internets on this particular color.

bee, I love the photos you have of Baltic Gray, but it's too dark for my room.

I'll try to get over there tomorrow to take a picture...

    Pipdog,

We just had our LR and DR painted BM Waynesboro Taupe at 50%. It becomes a Gray with brown. Not greige, too blue, or too green (at least in our light). I tried all the colors mentioned above including Bee's (which I loved in her house) and found them not to be right for our lighting or furniture. We don't get a lot of light in those rooms. It's perfect. You may want to try it.

At 25% it lost too much of the brown we were looking for.

pipdog, check out the other colors on the card---Nimbus is a favorite here too.

Yes, it was me. My bathroom does not have a window and so when I take a photo, it does not come out the true color. There is absolutely no undertones in it. That's why I like it.. By the way, I painted the ceiling Af Constellation . Looks great.

DARK RAINY DAY--no good for photographing paint without a flash. It may have to wait until the sun comes out again...which is not until Friday at the earliest...

thanks mjsee...i've been looking at Wish during different times of day and I'm also seeing a pink undertone in the morning light. So I think it's a no. :(

I'm going to get a gallon of BM Nimbus and be done with it. thanks, Bee for the recommendation - I liked all the colors on that card. I'll post photos when I FINALLY get this room painted (it's had random color swatches all over the room for a month now!)

    Happy holidays! :-)

I looked at Wish when choosing colors for my daughter's bathroom. We eventually settled on BM Balboa Mist. Have you looked at that? It is a really beautiful neutral warming gray with no pink that I can see. here is a link to a thread with pics, although they were taken with incandescent lighting on an overcast day so you cannot really see the true color.

I just painted the top half of a bedroom Wish, and it definitely does have a purple/lavender undertone in my daughter's house. (Under the chair-rail is the color Thunder, which is more neutral.) It is a lovely color for a bedroom, but now she wants to use it in the kitchen - eeek!

I'll start a different thread on that issue.... :)

Wish looks exactly like SW Agreeable Gray. Same LRV

If you feel Revere Pewter is too beige, try Ozark Shadows AC-26 (also known as Gray Huskie 1473)

What are the other colors you have used with Wish @ewolf6149

Does the wish at 50% have the pink undertone too. Do you like?

My daughter has Wish, and I'm wondering if Her's is 1/2 and 1/2 because it's a very soft comforting color. @kafowler68@gmail.com

I'm wanting to put in my main part of my home, and this has limited lighting from the west and east.

We just bought a house which has Wish in the central rooms, including the double height family room. It may have a hint of lavender in just the right light, but it is mostly a straight pale gray, and and I love it. it looks good when the sun is coming in and when it is not.
