Cabinets installed today

and I really like them! I originally had my heart set on an off-white kitchen. However, once I found a granite I loved I felt like dark cabs would look better so I totally switched (at the very last minute). I was worried b/c I don't have a window in my kitchen & 8 ft ceilings. So far no regrets though.

While I have you here :) a couple of questions

- Apparently I forgot to specify blumotion on all drawers, it's just on the base cab pull outs. It is expensive to add them now?

-Hardware is polished nickel & I want a black sink. Do you think ORB faucet would look ok, or should I stick to the nickel faucet?

Thanks!

Beautiful! I remember your back&forth on the cabinet color/granite. Looks very nice, and with the low wall plus big window in next room over you have plenty of light, so no worries there.

Looking good. I'd stick to nickel, but then I don't like mixing metals.

Your cabinets were installed beautifully, and black will look great with your other selections. I'm also voting for the nickel. I think it would pull out the pretty flecks in your Delicatus Granite.

IT looks great. Can't wait to see it with the granite.

    Blumotion are great!

Would you have someone else install them or DIY?

WE (I mean DH) just installed them on seven pullout shelves and four drawers- (He had installed no name brand on the rest). WE much prefer the Blum glides. Have no idea what they cost as our carpenter provided them, but I think they are available from HD and online.

So, I'm a big help aren't I? I 'think' they're around $20 a pair- have no clue what installation costs would be if you had to pay someone else to do it for you.

Oh ok, good to know we can install blumotion on the other drawers later! Thanks for your help ;)

They're really pretty. I can't wait to see more!

Your cabs look great and they will look fabulous with that granite!
    How excited you must be!

I think they look great! I really like the color, especially with your gorgeous granite! I think you made the right decision on cabinet finish!

Love them. I'd do the nickel.

Oh, pretty pretty! Looks great. Can't wait to see them with the granite. Should be stunning. I am so happy for you!

If you're interested in soft-close for doors as well, see the thread linked below (it's fallen off so this is the only way to get to it...searches won't find it!)

Your cabinets are granite are soooo nice. I also think you should do the polished nickel faucet. I think a black sink and orb faucet would be too distracting - keep the faucet light and airy to compliment your granite, then the deep, dark sink contrasts nicely with the faucet/granite above.

Love your cabinets. I would go with the polished nickel faucet as well. What is that white stone in your pic. Very pretty! Can't wait to see it all finished.

Love your cabinets and your granite! I agree with most here that you should stick with nickel and not orb for your faucet. Whatever you pick, it will be beautiful! (And this is coming from an off-white kitchen person!).

caminnc, the stone is called Brazilian Diamond, but you will find that diff. fabricators sometimes have their own names. I saw it elsewhere as Bianco Antico & Equador White. It's very similar to Delicatus White too.

    Thanks everyone!

Hey Sher - never realized that you had Bianco Antico like me!! Finally, someone else on the board that has the same granite. Tsdiver has it in his bathroom though.

It works so well with espresso cabs. I have a mix of both espresso and white cabinets. Your kitchen's going to look great - can't wait to see the granite in!!

Wow -- way to go w/ the last minute switcheroo. Looks great. My vote is for the nickel. I'm a match-y match person when it comes to metals!

LOVE that granite!! It's really similar to the delicatus that I am probably getting.

    sher,
May I ask what color your cabinets are and what type of wood. I love the look. Please post a picture when its all in thanks.

steph0312, my cabinets are ebony stained maple shaker. my backsplash was installed last week, but it doesn't compliment my granite so i'm working on trying to "fix" it since i can't afford to rip it out & start over. at any rate i'll post pics once it's all done!
