Outlet Cover Sources

So, I think I finally found a backsplash - Walker Zanger's Gramercy Park in "Hamptons Beige" is the front runner at the moment - which turned out to be much lighter than it looked on the web site. It goes perfect with my Ceasarstone "Jerusalem Sand". I may want a bit more contrast, not sure yet, the rep gave me a lot of other samples to mull over, but I definitely can live with this one and I love the trim pieces that go with it. Plus, I can get a good discount through my job - not sure how much yet but I know it's got to be 20-30% minimum.

But of course the generic white outlet covers I currently have (plastic) will have to go.

It's one of those things I never gave much thought to and I have no sources in my bag o'tricks to look at.

Can anyone point me to some of them? I probably might want ORB if possible to match my faucet/pulls or something in a beige tone to match the splash.

If you decide you'd like your outlets not to be a focal point, there's a paintable outlet & switch cover made by Mulberry. They're at Lowe's and HD, tagged "wrinkle finish" or something. They're also available online.

I have some odd outlet/switch configurations because I didn't want switch plates all over the place. One has 4 things: Light, Disposer, outlet, outlet. Because I use Decora outlets, I had light holes and square holes on the plate. (Did that make sense?) Had to order that. I have a bunch like that in different places in the house.

Paint can be good when you don't want everyone to notice just them in a beautiful place.

Arnev.com has a wide selection of outlet covers for pretty reasonable prices and just about any configuration.

Columbia Gorge Stoneworks can custom make outlet covers out of stone, quartz or ceramic tiles. Their website is stonewallplates.com. They were great to work with when we wanted wall plates made out of the quartzite that we used for our counters and backsplash. That's a much more expensive choice, but we've been very happy with the results.

We used them our MB and hall bath switchplates. Jamie is a sweetheart, and her husband David does beautiful work.

We also got wood plates from Arnev.com. Unfinished cherry ones which we had stained/finished by our cab manufacturer, and unstained but poly'd maple ones as well.

You can get ORB from rejuvenation.com. They will not be as cheap as other places though. Hope this helps you find your way.

Oops. Also Restoration Hardware has orb. I'm looking for metal plates also but have not decided on the finish yet.

I've found excellent quality, price and service from classicaccents.net (where I also purchased pushbutton switches for the whole house). Dealt with them for a few years now, and their metal switchplates are consistently heavy and high quality.

Thanks for all the additional sources since yesterday.

Circuspeanut - that site is particularly good. I don't know if you remember, but I have a Craftsman home where I found the encaustic cement floor tile that I tried to save but couldn't.

I'm still trying best as possible to keep the kitchen feeling authentic which as been challenging; I feel like I haven't quite done what I had in my head due to cost and all the "disasters" which occurred during the renovations (don't they always?) but if I can manage to continue to put in these little "gems" here and there as it heads into final completion and prevent it from feeling *too* modern, I'd be rather satisfied.
