Almost finished kitchen

Many thanks to GW for helping us through this process. From selection of soapstone to the choice of flooring, etc, GW came to the rescue. We have a lot left to complete but just glad to finally be able to be in the space. Not a great photographer but here are a few photos. Thanks again everyone!

Oooooooooooooo, lovely! Are those windows original to the house and are you keeping the trim stained?

Very nice kitchen! I love soapstone. Tell me about your floors, please. And your corners - I can see you did something cool with at least one of them. The room adjacent to your kitchen looks beautiful too.

    Enjoy!

    Great job.
Especially the soapstone & the floors.
    Is that a soapstone sink?
    And so much light.
I'd kill to have that much light.
    Enjoy.

Thanks so much everyone for your kind words and comments -- its very humbling and warms my heart. Thanks to our wonderful GC, everything turned out to be just what we hoped for.

This was a long project due to unforeseen circumstances. During the demolition we dealt with the death of my MIL, father and 3 year old golden retriever all within 6 weeks. Really puts kitchen angst in perspective.

Here are the details - hope I answered everyone's questions:

Soapstone counter and sink: Original PA. Purchased directly from Dave Brushett of Central New England Soapstone. Had a few slabs of PA left in his yard and I snagged them. He also fabricates for Dorado out of Shrewsbury, MA. His son Ben fabricates the sinks. Dave and Ben are wonderful guys, easy to deal with and love what they do.

Pulls: Amerock Brass & Sterling Traditions. Satin Nickel 160 mm and 4". Purchased through A&H Turf.

Knobs: Amerock Satin Nickel Clear Glass BP55268-GC10. Purchased on ebay.

    Faucet: Kohler Vinnata K-690-VS. Ebay

Backsplash: My favorite part of the kitchen! Mexican Handcrafted Tile 2x8.5 supremea gloss bricks in color Touch of Gray. See website at caarttile.com

    Range: GE Cafe
Micro: GE Cafe Advantium -- still experimenting with it.
    Dish: KA KUDE40FXSS - quiet.
Fridge: KA KFC22EVMS - love it!

Floors: 3-1/2" red oak, Early American stain, water base finish.

Chris1185: Yes, windows are original. Debating whether to keep the stain or paint. Would love input on this.

Go_figure01: Project took 5 months -- subtract 3-4 weeks due to supplier forgetting to order cabinets (I know, unbelievable) and other things.

herbflavor: Thank you -- as I said, we are very thankful to our meticulous GC.

    Again, thanks to all!

    LoriF,
We're doing a new build and will have 12 over 12 windows as well. The kitchen will have a lot of windows with almost no uppers and the cabinets will be white. I always go neutral with paint colors (whites and creams) so I have been debating staining the windows so the space isn't this big expanse of white. I'm thinking maybe we'll stain the window itself but paint the trim, similar to the picture below. If you aren't sure, keep it stained. Once you paint it you can't go back - well not without a ton of work!

Love it! Looks so clean and fresh! What color white was used on your cabinets?

Glad to hear you love your frig. I have the same one sitting in the garage waiting to be installed. Of all my new appliances, I think I am most excited about that one!
