Hi Sarah! I do homeschool my children. Each day is a new adventure with them, and I feel truly blessed to have this opportunity. This photo is of the loft area in our house which is where we do most of our schoolwork. Let me know if you have any questions.

do you still homeschool? We are building a new house and are setting up a school room for our 7 children. How would you design it?

Homeschooling 3 kids for 6 years now, have repurposed rooms in our house several times to suit ever changing needs. What I have found works for K-6 years is kitchen +laundry + school area (computers, books, writing table space) in close proximity. I have looked at homes and drool when I see a plan that has a guest bedroom adjacent to the kitchen-a perfect separate homeschool room IMHO that you can close the door to when company comes! Currently, my kids have separate "workshop" area in the lower level where they do art, science and history projects (wish we had a big clean up sink down there) and I have to store all the extra stuff (books, supplies) elsewhere, which decreases the spontaneity of grabbing another book off the shelf and also requires more deliberate planning before the schoolwork starts to make sure we have everything we need (which is a good discipline for me, but I would prefer a bigger school area surrounded by bookshelves). Love to hear how others manage it!
