Photobucket question

Everytime I try to post an image, it comes out huge. Makes me feel foolish. Can someone tell me how to make the photobuckets come out smaller. Many thanks.

When you click on the picture (or choose 'edit'), choose 'resize' and size it to 'large.' You can size down, but not up. If you ever get it too small, you'll have to download the original photo again in order to see it larger.

Once you have uploaded and saved the image in photo bucket, to re-size it:
    1. Click on "Edit" choice just below the picture title. The image will load.
    2. The basic tab should be selected by default. Click "re-size" icon which is 4rth on the basic tab.
    3. Use the size adjustment choices that come up to adjust your image by percent, preset sizes, vertical/horizontal... I find it easiest to "keep proportions" and use the mouse to drag the width and height bar or to select "Use Percentages" and enter the desired percentage in the "New Size" field.
    4. Click the "Apply" button to the right to activate the size changes.
    5. At the bottom right click "replace original" to save the save changes which will rewrite over the existing image.
OR click "Save a copy" if you want to keep the original image and also have a copy of the resized one. (click "add title" if you want to give it a different title.)
    6. Click on "albums & upload" at the top left to see all of your images including the newly re-sized one.

NOTE: if you have a way of resizing the picture before it gets into photobucket, it mighter be simpler.

Actually, though, if you just click on the photo after it's downloaded (so you see it almost full size), there is a little tool bar that shows up across the top edge of the photo and you can choose 'resize' and the sizes pull-down right there. The edit function like you described, Kev, takes SO long...At least it does for me. That toolbar I mention is sometimes hidden, so if it's not there and you roll your cursor over the top of the photo, it should show up.

rhome410 - Tried to test out your shortcut, but an annoying pop-up on photobucket prevented me - I will try it later.

That's one reason I only do Photobucket through Firefox instead of other browsers...Less problem with pop-ups. I just checked again, because I wasn't sure my description made sense...That tool bar I use will be found actually overlapping/on top of the top edge of the photo. I didn't mean the one up above that runs across the page.
