Kitchen in progress...New granite!!

Still very much a work in progress. I have had one delay after another but I am almost back to a useable kitchen. I have learned so much from so many here. I did not find this site until after demolition and a few choices had been made (If I had I would have made a few small changes). I am very happy with the results so far. We still have to install plumbing and a backsplash. I need to wait a few months but I would like to do a tile backsplash. I have not picked this out yet. For now we are going to paint. I really wanted to use a pale blue. I tried a few colors before the granite was installed but now that it is in I am not sure if I like blue. Any suggestions would be much appreciated. The kitchen is open to the living room which is going to be painted SW restrained gold. I also want to change the lighting but due to budget that is also waiting a few months.

Cabints semi-custom from a local shop (still have a few problems needing to be fixed)

appliances GE cafe

granite Gallo Florence

Sink Moen super single ( this changed from the Blanco super double 513-442 after I received 4 broke sinks)

Faucet will be Brizo Providence contemporary

Very nice. I really like the gray blue (under the corner upper)...But I'm not big on pastels, so maybe it's that bias coming through. I just really think it will be a cool (in both senses of the word) complement to the goldish granite. It would also set off the stainless so nicely.

This is nice. I'll be doing my kitchen on the same "extended schedule" as money and time permit. I think a butter yellow would keep the corner location light, showcase the cabinets, and pick up the highlights in the granite.

Just wanted to add that to the left of the picture is a eating area with a huge bay window (I did not take a picture because that is where all my packed up kitchen items are sitting). The room is flooded with light all day. I rarely turn on any lights until night fall.

I am curious what your floor color is? It looks nice with your dark cabinets. We are doing dark cabs and are trying to decide on flooring.

    Its really coming out great!
I am curious about how much room
is between the refrig. and the wall?
One of my layouts has the same setup and
I was concerned about enough clearance.
Enjoy Thanksgiving in your new space!

The floors are Brazilian cherry. I am not sure of the space between fridge and wall. I am away from home now. I will measure on Friday and let you know

vicnsb- there is an inch between wall and fridge

If the kitchen is open to the living room and if the color that is on the wall in the picture is SW restrained gold (which I think is beautiful), how about continuing the same color into the kitchen. If the space is open it might help with uniting the areas.

I like the color it is now. It is so soothing. And goes well with the granite. I think the blue greys are cool and the granite warm. That is my opinion. Any color you chose will look great with your beautiful cabinets and floor. I love them.

I'm not normally a dark wood cabinet lover, but yours are gorgeous! I've been thinking about getting a dark wood vanity for our downstairs bathroom, and after seeing your cabs, I like the idea even more! (what type of wood are yours BTW?)

I really like your granite with your cabs--very striking combination!

I missed answering the last few days due to traveling. The painters are here today. I decided to continue the SW restrained gold from living room through the kitchen. I am doing an accent wall in SW mannered gold and dining room in SW portabello.

cat mom- the cabinets are maple. I do not have a stain name. I had a local shop mix up a color for me. It was the first time they had done this color. I ask for a coffee bean color. I took in a few pictures of other pieces of furniture with that color to copy. I really wanted cherry wood but it cost $4000 more.

Very nice! I love the cabinet color and your granite choice.

I like the gold color also. Goes well with the cabinets and counter. Your kitchen appears to have a warm feeling to me and the greys/blues are too cool. I can't wait to see a complete picture. LOVE accent walls!!!
