Bi-Level Home Kitchen Window

Hello, I need some decorating opinions. I live in a bi-level home, although, it is not the standard layout. The downstairs is the kitchen, dining room, family room etc. with a living room and bedrooms upstairs. The kitchen window faces the front of the house towards the street. With this being a lower level, the window is basically a larger window above the kitchen sink. I like to let light in during the day but like the have privacy at night so no one can see in. I have had mini-blinds with a valance, although, the mini-blinds get dirty and just have to clean them all the time. I'm thinking of putting a shade with a beige swag and off white sheers (shortened to length of window). What do you think? Or does anyone have any suggestions? I like the front of the house to have the same look in the front windows so I was going to put sheers and shades in all windows. Just want to make sure before I do this, our windows are wide and have to have the shade custom cut so they are more expensive than a standard shade. Just wandering suggestions for my kitchen window treatment. I don't want the standard kitchen certains that you buy at Walmart, I want something nicer and cleaner, not the top valance and the lower curtain that opens in the middle. What do you think? I'd appreciate any suggestions!
