Cambria counters

Kitchen style report. Some very interesting things in this freebie. Primary colors are back for appliances. Whoda thot?? No red refrigerator for me; I'm sticking with the '90's basic white.

    What is this, Christmas Spam?

Actually, warmfridge asked about Cambria counters. I had just gotten this literature in the mail the day before so it was on top of the pile. The articles are very interesting and answer a couple of questions that were posted here within the past two weeks. You can get a free issue at the web site I posted. It's too upscale for me but I thought the appliance color forecast was the answer to some prayers here. Those of us waiting for white induction are likely SOL.

thanks, pinch-me. I loved looking at the gallery as I'm doing a sleek kitchen, and there was lots of inspiration. Hope you had a great holiday!

We had our weekly storm. I was powerless for a little over two days. Warmed up Christmas dinner on an upside down tin can over 3 little tea light candles. It can be done. My next research project is wood/pellet stoves! I said last year I'd have one this year, procrastinated and didn't get it done. I won't let it slide another year!

    Hi Pinch,
Yes, I was asking about quartz countertops. I just ordered some samples of Cambria, Zodiaq, and Silestone. There aren't any places around here where I can see the first two, and samples were cheaper/easier than driving 200 miles. (I am researching generators right now!)

Warmfridge, be sure to get a generator bigger than you think you need. Mine is too small for the heat pump. It worked just fine for the furnace I USED to have. Regretting the heat pump every week. I'm looking into pellet stoves. I don't need one often but when I do, it would be wonderful. It was only a little over two days this time but next time could be a week. I've done that. Don't want to do it again.

As for counters and such. I order samples of everything and pay the shipping. Even if I could find it somewhere, I can't drive there for the shipping cost. And too often all they have is the sample size, too. I have my own personal supply of Formica/Wilsonart. I'm showing the people who sell the stuff patterns they haven't seen! My carpenter said to get those samples out on my existing counter. USE them and see if they water spot, stain, or are hard to clean. So I did. I liked so many but in the end, for so many reasons, I have chosen Formica Frost White laminate.
