What is the material and does it continue on the (outdoor) walls of this entry alcove?

    The white frame is made of a foam substance. I am not sure what your asking, after that.

    I think I figured out your question. We put the foam around the door. Then painted it and the alcove in the same color.

    Can you tell me what sort of foam this was and whether it could endure the extreme weather in a ski town?

    I would contact a construction Company. Show them the Picture, and see what the suggest. Being in Las Vegas, We have extreme heat, wind and Rain. Not Snow.
