    Thank you for your reply but I think the question is what is the hearth (the area around the front and sides of the fireplace) made of ?? It looks like concrete in the front and maybe stained concrete on either side??

    Hello,
    I am so sorry didn't answer your question. It is a slate stone in front of the fireplace as code requires non-combustible material. The two benches on either side of this slate are wood stained.
