The ants are a GUARANTEED bonus, each year that I put my plants outdoors out on my deck, elevated ~ 4' high. This colony established itself in a 3" clay pot that was set up earlier this year for the back bulb division. The medium was fresh.

In past years, if I don't kill an ant colony outright on the first attempt, they simply relocate to another pot. They always choose clay pots, I'm guessing for the humidity and coolness.

I appreciate the ants' validation of my good conditions!
