What kind of cabinets are these?

The cabinet color on the center island is Van Dyke Brown by Sherwin Williams in the flat finish. The cabinets were custom made by my contractor--all real wood not MDF.

Looks awesome. 1 small critique: why do you feel the need to use white plugs? they stick out a bit too much. but great job!

It is one deep drawer to hold pots and pans.

Please change the white plugs to a dark or cream shade from the tiles. The plugs will blend in and not stick out like a sore thumb. I do love your new kitchen.

I LOVE that you went with the creamy warm whites and browns - beautiful job. Looks like you've done something I am considering for my own kitchen remodel - you took over an informal breakfast area and carried the countertops and cabinets into that space for a larger kitchen. So I have two questions for you:

1. When you post new pics, could you post one or two that show where the dining space is now in relation to the larger kitchen?

2. In terms of difficulty/cost, how does closing up windows rate? Is it a huge deal construction/cost wise, or not so much? (I'd need to get rid of one window in my breakfast area to gain wall space for cabinets/counters.)

This is just fabulous. I love your color choices, the flooring and the back splash. And, what a wonderful island! Is that a glass top counter? Do you have bar stools there? The pullout cupboards by the stove top are awesome, too. I never thought getting rid of windows would be a good idea. I can't believe the kitchen looks brighter! I can't find anything I would do differently.

Your cabinetry is beautiful.

We are still looking for the right counter stools to go with the granite counter. Closing up the windows accomplished a few things: 1)gaining wall space that we lost when removing the wall 2) adding more cabinet storage which freed up the center island for a beverage cooler, another trash pullout and seating 3) moving the stove top from the opposite "wall".

Closing up the wall may have eliminated the cost of new windows but it did add cost in stucco repair and the challenge of matching existing stucco finish. In the end, it made for a better layout and we are pleased with the outcome.
