RECIPE: Pork Chops with Mushroom Gravy

My husband really loves this dish!

4-5 pork chops

1 small onion, chopped

½ cup white wine (you can use red)

1 can of condensed mushroom soup

2/3 cup milk

1 Tbsp butter

1 clove garlic, minced (optional)

Garlic powder, to taste

Salt and pepper, to taste

Season pork chops with salt, pepper, and garlic powder. Brown chops in skillet; remove to platter.

In same skillet, add the butter, onions and cook until onions are slightly brown. Add minced garlic to the skillet when onions are almost done. If you add garlic at the same time as the onions, it will become bitter.

Add white wine (you can also use red wine if you donÂt have white) and scrape up all the browned bits in the skillet. Add one can of mushroom soup and 2/3 cup milk. Whisk until well combined and bring to a gentle simmer.

Return browned chops to the skillet. Cover and simmer for 20 minutes; turn chops over, cover and simmer for 20 minutes; remove cover and simmer for another 10-15 minutes, sauce will thicken. This sauce is really good served over broccoli.
