Hi rolih, one 18" leaf extends table to 78" long. Will seat up to six guests with leaf in place.

what makes this an antique? I have a table very similar....how can I determine if it is this one you have here?

This table is not an antique. It is a reproduction named for the Tynecastle area of Northern England, the 50-piece Tynecastle collection is inspired by the manor homes and equestrian life of the English countryside. Tynecastle combines classic Georgian architechural details with more rustic timber-frame elements and leather accents, creating a "manor home to tack room" Hunt Country flavor.

What part of this table is composed of MDF or particle board?

The whole table is made of MDF with wood veneers. However, the table's base has more MDF than its top. Please let us know if we can further assist!
