Which fireplace screen?

I like option 1 because the gold finish goes nicely with the other gold finishes (frame, sconces) in the space.

I like option 2 because the lattice design is repeated in my sconces.

I'd go with #2, the lattice one. The simpler shape would match the fire tools look better with the clean lines of your fireplace.

If you have a young child, you need to consider safety before appearance. Something not attached that can be pulled down on to a small person is a bad idea. (I noticed the stroller...)

I heard that brass is going to be coming back for 2015. I still like #2 better.

No 1 looks old fashion to me. I love the lattice. The sconces will look fine with the black screen

We chose #1 because it seems like you're trying to brighten the place up with the paint colours. But aesthetically, #2 is nicer looking.
