Bed side lighting

We have a knee wall that is about 4 feet +/- that will provide a headboard for our queen bed. We have paneled this knee wall with walnut and we are wondering where our wall sconce/reading/swing arm lamps should be placed. How high and where in relation to the bed. the masking tape shows the bed side table and the bed height, which is about 27". Are there any hard fast rules on placement?

Don't install the bed lights until bed and mattress is in place. Then lie down on the bed a decide where light should be. There are no hard fast rules. Just what works for you.

And be careful getting out of bed! We had a similar setup in our last home and ended up moving the bed to the regular height wall after many goose eggs from getting up too quickly:)
