The plant exchange on these forums is a good place to start. Just make sure anything you bring in from, or send to, Aus is permissible.
Respect the laws, and remember our primary industries can be devestated by one small act of ignorance.

Hi Tuinier,I dont know of one,But have imported seed from England.First I found out that the seed I wanted was available,then went to MAF on the net and asked them if I could import the seed and they send you a list of what you can and cant import.I then sent the docs they sent me with the payment and asked the seed merchant to send it back with the seed.I recieved the seed within 8 days of being sent.It had been opened by MAF but thats what they said they would do.So it was not difficult.Hope this helps

That would be great Spike. A lot of the plants in Australia are not allowed in here and vice versa.
I think all gardeners save seed and can take cuttings for our friends on GardenWeb NZ.

Let's get a seed exchange up and running. Up until now I've been trading seeds with the USA, Canada, Brazil, Mexico, and Britain with no major MAF problems. Sometimes they have detained seed until I have been able to supply botanical names and most they have released. It appears however that any Bean or Pea type seeds are a complete NONO.
I mostly grow Tuberous Begonia's and New guinea impatiens which we both display and sell at garage sales .I also grow both organic and Hydroponic vegetables. So far through the garden web I have aquired 25 varieties of heirloom Tomatoes and have many unusual seeds I'd like to trade from various countries. Will update my trade list as soon as possible if anyone is keen to get this running over here.
