Would you swap the dining room and sun room?

We have a historic colonial I love and it's also very spacious at 4,600 sq ft. but like most old homes it has a disproportionately sized at kitchen 12x12. Usually I love my kitchen but as the kids get older and we host ALL the holidays I'm spending this snowy Christmas cramped and surrounded by boots/coats etc.

I don't want an addition on an already large home and I don't want to knock down walls as I don't think open concept works for houses like mine. So my idea is this, we make the kitchen a mud room/laundry room since it already has the back door, the attached dining room (20x27) becomes an eat in kitchen and the sunroom (13x19, attached to both living room and current dining room via french doors) becomes the dining room.

I'm not worried about resale and our association approved the idea since the change can be reversed (and they're glad not to have another addition!). I want to know if I'll go to historic home hell for this-what would you do?

Oh and sorry about the lack of floorplan I'm doing this on my phone as I got kicked out of the kitchen.
