Yes, the white form is a nice looking tree, I had one in a similar position but as it grew...and grew, and grew, and I finaly realised it would be as large as the lilac version and it had to go. Be aware that Jacarada is not a little tree! Also, they can be brittle in windy areas, my lilac 20 year old version, split down the centre as a cosequence of the winds of ex-cyclone Oswald recently. White Jacandra are seldom seen here in WA, and I have been told by a suposedly reliable nursery that all white plants are specially grafted plants and that they were all done by some old bloke who no longer does this process. Is this just some urban myth to justify the enormous price of any available plants? Are white jacandra plants actually grown from seeds? I did see a special variagated plant on sale fo something like $258 in Perth, it was approx 1.2 mt tall. Experience tells me that even short jacaranda plants in nurseries are several years old, has anyone experience of growing white flowered plants from seed?

I did hear many years ago that that is right, LynDy, they are grafted. As for cost or rarity, you don't see them often, I had one once but planted it in the wrong spot and had to remove it. As I recall it didn't cost me an arm or leg to buy, I think I got it at Bunnings, for about the cost of the average grafted Aussie native, I think.
