Arachnis orchid flowering

Quite by accident noticed this orchid flowering. I've had them for years and they grow like crazy. But they've always been reluctant to flower. So it was a nice surprise to see this. I've got stacks of plants, some growing 5 metres up into trees, but only one flowering just now. I tentatively ID'd it as A. limax, but have never been really sure. I bought the first plants at a market and the woman selling them was sure they were an orchid, but that's about all.

Wow, I like it! I would like to grow such a species, but it looks like it needs warmer temps than I can provide.

Thanks, the growing part is relatively simple, it's just the flowering part ................ well, it's complicated!

They love the sun. Full, hot tropical sun. Maybe try a few cuttings in a sunnier spot?
Here's one just tied to a cyclone fence in Cairns.

It's a bit of a fine balance here. Cairns isn't anywhere near as hot as here plus it's a lot more humid there.

Tropic lives in the Northern Territory. My impression is that
Arachnis is best suited by Tropical Lowland conditions.
Ie. Temp range 20 to 30C every day, lots of rainfall and Humidity.

I'm on the inland side of Darwin (rural area). So get hotter than Darwin (and also colder over night in the dry season). I was in Cairns the other week, go there quite a bit, though hang out mostly out from Cairns itself..
