Just want to vent. The day before Christmas I went out to the pond and found all 16 of my Koi were gone. Nothing left in my pond after 8 years with little problem. The 7 largest fish were thrown out onto the grass in the back yard with spear holes behind the head and left to die. My favorite Koi, a 8 year old tricolor was still alive with no apparent damage so i put him back in the pond and he swam away. He seamed fine but the next morning he was gone. How can a bird eat so many fish and why kill the ones he didnt eat?
I have 2 caves for the fish to hide in but with the warm weather, leaves off the trees and no ice on the pond they were sitting ducks for anything flying over.
I guess I will have to restock with Parana in the spring or maybe a 45 inch Musky.
