rainbird esp-rzx controller problem

After two summers of working normally, this year the system starts at midnight although the time I have set is 3 am. It then runs again at 3 am as programmed, but I have been unable to locate and/or eliminate the midnight start time. The other optional times are all showing -:-. I have reset the controller, I have deleted all the programming (using seasonal adjustment plus right and left arrows) and I have left the unit without batteries and power for several minutes, but none of this has corrected the problem. Any suggestions please?

It says each zone can have a total of 6 start times.. So if you have 8 zones, you have a possible total of 48 start times! Kinda ridiculous lol. Have you looked through all of those for EACH zone? Is your season adjust set at 100? Is your current time and date correct?

Otherwise, if you can or if you're awake, go out when it kicks on at midnight and write down everything you see on the screen. Then report back and we might be able to help more!

my immediate thought was there was another program running, but I guess this controller doesn't have programs! interesting concept, apparently not much easier to operate! >.<
