What have your nighttime temps been dropping to? have you had them outside all winter? I'm just a bit north of you in central Florida, but have been hesitant to put my adeniums outside with the occasional 40 degree temps at 6-7am.

This is all assuming your keeping them dry, right?

Hi CactusN00b, here in Fort Myers it is usually in the mid 50s at night. We did have a few nights recently where it hit 46 degrees at night but nothing lower here. I understand the usual frost line in Florida is at Orlando.. so anything south of Orlando usually does not get any frost. My desert roses are on the lanai in a pool cage and in the sun most of the day (not under any cover). They are in well draining pots so when we get rain the pots drain fast and well. I also recently put a desert rose in the ground in a white sand bed (dirt under about 4 inches of white sand). All the best.

Mine too are in fast draining soil, basically Al's Gritty mix. So you haven't had any issues with he mid 40s temps , then?

I may have to experiment with one or two of mine and see how they fair, as were about 4 to 7 degrees cooler on average. Cant remember the last time i saw frost.( I'm just west of Orlando)

I have enough adeniums, about 30 or so, that it becomes a pretty big effort to move them in and out all winter. Seems like every other day the high is 70+, then 60. Good exercise though :)
