There are 16 inches of snow-shoveling being procrastinated so let's just wax sentimental for the mo.

Two years ago my only plant was a pot of sad-looking coleus that only got water when it started to pass out (coleus do that, who knew!)

Then I got this Rik Ni Ran. Not knowing what to do with the thing, google brought be to this forum. Excuse the the light, we're indoors in the middle of the blizzard.

Rik Ni Ran--a prolific bloomer, with incredible fire engine red flowers. It has been in that pot for 2 years so the substrate is ready to be refreshed. Maybe it will even be lifted!

This is my White Something (Angel, maybe, can't remember), also a prodigious bloomer. And doesn't realize it's -6C on the other side of that glass.

I have about 18 remaining seedlings all over the place, from 3 separate batches of about 30 seeds, including a batch of dismal A. arabicum seeds that I think gave me 2 seedlings (may need your help confirming that ID). I'm a bit ruthless with culling sickly seedlings. I also planted about 6 seedlings in the ground and planned to dig them up this winter but I forgot all about them when we moved. These two are the ones in the hot room. For those of you who are familiar with the Official Derwent Pencil Seedling Scale. lol

As part of my second anniversary presentation (lol). meet this seedling:

I planted a batch of 15 obesum seeds (Mr. Ko always throws in 5 more seeds for free) on February 2013. They germinated as expected except for about 3 or 4. I put away the soil, thinking I could use it later outside as an amendment to our very sandy soil. Around June, I took it out to dump into a coleus bed and found this maggoty little thing had actually sprouted in the basement, in the dark!

Naturally, I did what every adenium grower would have done and planted it.

Here we are now! Two years old and still barely an inch tall. But I don't care. These things are tough.

Great Pagan. Hope they do well for you.
That plant is something special, I would say.

Just checked in on my Dr. Dimmitt seedlings and discovered that one of them is Variegated. So neat. In all of the seeds over the last 3yrs. that I have started, it is the first ever. Even with multiple sowings of seeds from Variegated plants. May not hold, but time will tell.

I agree with your statement. "These things are tough."

Thanks, Rick. How this one seed managed to sprout in the cold and dark for so many months is beyond me.

I need a bit of help determining if this seedling below is an arabicum? It has since lost its label and it is one of three I have that looks like this--rounded, dark (almost purple) trunk. I know I planted A. arabicum Dwarf Black RCN, I am hoping this was one of the ones who made it.

I am not all that familiar from personal experiences, but from photo's of people's in the Adenium group. It definitely has the same color to it's caudex.
I would think Black RCN.

Or maybe this is what happens when you grow them in the dark?

Wow! Loving that dark one. I am inclined to agree with Rick that it could be Black RCN. One I've been wanting to add to my collection. Seeing as I didn't buy any adeniums last year perhaps this year I'll get a few. Really hoping all my seedlings that are now 2 years old will actually flower this spring!
