Hm, that is bothersome. I've never had seeds, so I'll just be guessing. After a while I am quite sure the fluff will fall off on their own. Then shake them in front of a fan? That is essentially how rice husk is separated from the heavier milled rice, albeit mechanised.

You have an excellent problem though! So many seeds that it will take hours to defluff lol

I guess no one de-fluffs them is nature so I would just plant them. They can germinate in as few as 2 days in my own experience. If you don't trust planting with tufts in situ, just try a few and see what happens if you have so many. They need to be soaked for a couple hrs max before planting, then keep uniformly moist till they sprout.

Failing that, ask a friend round for a coffee on condition they help out and promise them an interesting adenium plant when it grows up :)

Thanks for the help. I will try a batch with the tufts on and see if there is any differance. I love planting seeds but to de tuft them all does my head in.

I wonder if they might be cleaned the way I clean milkweed seeds? Place the pod in a paper bag, allow the pod to open: take the empty pod out (leaving the fluff and seeds in) bag. You might want to let them air dry for a couple more days in bag.

To separate, simply crumple closed bag on itself a few times. At least with milkweed, the seed kernel is left on the bottom of the bag.
