Any date works for me but the 16th is better, since the previous weekend is Mother's Day and would mean being away from home two days in a row (hard to do in Spring!).

Alice and I still plan to come - but I probably will pretty much have to sit in one place. This myasthenia gravis is eating my lunch - and supper, and breakfast! It is getting really hard to walk even 50 feet on level ground, and I am perpetually short of breath. But I am very much looking forward to the swap!!!

No, but do you have anything like empty pots, spare bags of soil, or other plant-related stuff? We also have allowed stuff like arts and crafts materials, homemade jellies, etc. Do you know where some nice looking rocks are? Go get some and bring them! Somebody may want them for their garden!

Well, I have a bunch of vermiculite! And I can probably scrape up some other items...

Oh yeah, I also have a lot of tillandsia!

edsiajb, I for one would be interested in Tillandsias.

New items I can bring - I have a few seedlings popping up of Gulf Coast Penstemon that I have already potted up, plus I can pot up starts of coral honeysuckle (Lonicera sempervirens).

It looks like I will be able to bring some plants left over from the Etowah County MG sale, if anyone is interested but only if someone is interested. Let me know if you are. Included in the list: Angelwing begonias with flowers in colors of red or pink; small jades; golden dewdrops; Alternathera "Black Knight" and "Raspberry Rum"; Kalanchoe pinnata; Black Pearl pepper; hybrid aloes; Gasterias; various Coleus. If there is a shrub you are looking for, inquire. We also still have a variety of tomatoes and peppers.

I am interested in Edsiajb's Tillandsia as well; let me know what you are interested in. And Kenneth, I would like any of the following: red Angelwing begonia, jades, gasterias, aloes (anything for a strawberry pot), as well as any alternathera / coleus you have left over (if it's from the sale I will compensate/donate for it, please). You are welcome to anything on my exchange page, but I am saving you the best manettia cordifolia I have (very hardy for me and a "crackhouse" for hummingbirds and butterflies!). I'll be updating my trades and placing all info on my Exchange Page if I can find it. I'm still trying to figure out this new GW site, while trying to familiarize myself with the new "Southern Living Garden Book". Those two things are irritating enough - tomorrow I have a root canal, so "stay tuned". ;-D

(Below is a shot of one of my many clumps of pulmonaria, ordered from "up nawth" because B'ham nurseries deem it not hardy here. It's 5+ years old, and been through one of the hottest/driest summers on record.)

Nelson, lots of good stuff there. Let me speak to the lady in charge of the greenhouse but I think she would be more than willing to trade for these elephant ears: Kona Coffee, Coffee Cups, Diamond Head, Pineapple Princess . Me, I would love the Indigofera, Manietta, and Poncirus. The Star of David Okra is coming along, ditto the cotton, but this cold weather is slowing them down. I also will have a few transplants of black peanut. Let's see what is there after Saturday. I went to get veggies for a friend this morning and it looked like a tornado had gone through the tomatoes - nearly all gone, about 5 kinds left, mostly Cherokee Purples. Saturday will clean us out of them, I am sure. I think we will have what you are wanting, though.

Unfortunately, I will be unable to attend. My son is graduating from high school, and the out-of-town company will be staying through tomorrow. Do y'all do this again in the fall?

Kimberly, there is a small gate fee - a few dollars - to get into the park. Then most of us chip in a few bucks each toward the rent for the pavilion but that is not mandatory. The number of attendees varies so impossible to say - I would guess the spring swap averages 25 but that is a wild guess, probably on the low side. Fall swaps are usually not as well attended.

Edsiajb , so sorry you will not be able to attend - I was looking forward to meeting you. Yes, we usually have a swap early in October, just keep looking on this forum. It will probably be when Alabama and Auburn are not playing at home!
