The blue in the background is marked as Optimara LIttle Azurite, but this one is not single as Optimara's descriptions. I could not think of any varieties else that it could possibly be.

    It may be Frosted Denim!

    It is Little Blue Blur

I like it and grouped with that Mac's Black Jack it makes a very fine display

Another one of your Mac reds! Beautiful!

What a rich red! Gorgeous! I like the blue, too. Thanks for giving us another peek at your collection. I'm curious about where you live, since you said Optimaras are hard to find there. That's nearly all I can find here, on the rare occasions that I find violets!

Lucky123 - I really like the name, LIttle Blue Blur.:)
I like to use this name to call my hybrid violet, ask for your permission.

Joanne - Mac's Black Jack is dark red. It is really nice red, as there is lots of red pigment in it, which can be noticed when I took a close up photo.

Sue - I am on the other side of the world, Thailand, Asia.
I always come to gardenweb and post violet photos. As years ago, I learned how to grow violets from people here.
Now I don't want this good website, especially this gallery page just stay still and die out as most people turn to Facebook.

    lucky123 - Thank you!

Here it comes, 'Lucky Little Blue Blur'
I love the name so much.
I crossed Morgan's Declan Duff with Rainbow's Quiet Riot and the seed parent is MDD. I grew only 5 plants since ran out of space. This LLBB is a mini, not a good one but I like it though.

A silver violet! In metal is a the slight touch of blue that makes silver or steel differ from plain white
That is silver with the blue blur on the petals. Very Nice and the name fits very well.
I like that petal shape. I prefer the plainer flowers to the semi and fully double. It resembles Grandifolia in the shape and Grandifolia is my favorite violet.
The shape of the plant looks good. The leaf color compliments the flower color. The flowers seem large and that blush of blue almost but not quite a thumb print, just a hint of blue blur making the color silver, is unusual.
It is a very fine violet.
Lucky Little Blue Blur suits it perfectly.
A good name for a good violet :)

Your writing the story of the color of violets is fun to read. I cannot express details not only in English, but also in my own language. Thank you so much for your cooperation on this Lucky Little Blue Blur! I am repotting it today as the summer is coming in a couple of days.

    Silver African Violets are rare.
The pink blush, the violet blush are fairly common but a blue blush is a rare blur indeed.
I bet that violet is stunning in real life when the sparkle of the petals is evident.
I like it very much! You have a good eye to spot that subtle, silver color!

    Update on Mac's Black Jack

lucky123 - I never heard of Silver African violet before, I went back and reread your writing to clear my understanding well. Thanks a lot for explaining about it.

This is very lovely, I love the red and blue plates, and of course together with the dolls. Thanks Joanne for sharing this!
The Mac's Black Jack photo was taken under morning sunlight.

Wow! Lovely photos! Thanks for sharing!!!! Black Jack is gorgeous!!!

Joanne, you should start a vintage thread. I'll contribute if you do. :) What country does this photo represent? And do all of these violets have names? Thanks.

    Hi, Kai and Sue,
Thanks! Glad you like the photo.
Yes, I thought about a vintage thread. Glad to know you will contribute, Sue!
I just groomed all my AVs and thought I'd have some fun.
The vintage plates are English transferware, the pattern designers were British. The plates sold in both the U.S. Markets as well as British. The figurines are from Holland, so, Dutch. I guess you could call it American collectible eclectic!
The large pink blossom overhanging the Dutch boy is Ian Madame. To the left in front of it is the Optimara one that looks like rosebuds. It is an older AF - the blooms get larger with age. To the left of the boy is a mini Rob's Love Bite. It is red double. In the center is another of the Optimara that looks like rose buds. Behind and between the plates is Beauty Goddess. The large Violet color one on the right that looks blue in the photo is probably an Optimara or a Lyon's. It is perhaps 5 years old or more. It could be Sea Drift, a Lyon's, but it blooms heavily like an Optimara.
I just realized, I packed much of my vintage China as we are moving soon. I will see what else I can come up with. Joanne

Joanne- How soon are you moving?
I have 4 plant stands plus 2 small ones. I never count how many plants I have. There are a lot of baby plants in dome too.
The blue vintage plate is so sentimental, I have some too. Will get ones to take photos with the violets soon.
What is about the Vintage thread, please explain more!

Hi, Probably the move will be this month or next, in the same city. Sounds like you have about the same quantity as I do. I never counted until now for moving. One of my cousins counts when she visits. A vintage thread would be started on the Discussion page with photos of AVs used in decorative ways, such as with antique China plates. As you commented, the plates have a sentimental look that goes well with violets.

Haven't got a vintage yet, but I have a decoupage tray filled with baby violets. I dusted the tray before taking a photo, but the photo showed the dust in the corners of the tray. Sorry about that, just look over it!

It is a lovely "medley". The tray is very pretty, too. Here is my mantle now with just one Optimara. Some of the other photos I had posted seem to have been removed, which is fine. I was thinking of removing them, anyway.
