I recommend those sites:
1- Fruitiers.net
It is mostly in French, but many Canadiens are registered as well.
Once you are registered, you can list what you have, locate apples and pears you are interested in and request a trade.

2- You should also check the two main Canadiens germplasm repositories: there are lists at UOfSak www.fruit.usask.ca (deadline in early fall for spring the next year) and secondly the Plant Gene Resources of Canada at pcgrc3.agr.gc.ca
You can ask for cuttings (at the canadien Germplasm) until January 31st

I might be interested in trading pears, especially hardy varieties.

I am also interested in Canadian suppliers of fruit scionwood, I would be willing to pay as my fruit base is not large enough yet to harvest scionwood. I looked up the Plant Gene Resources of Canada but it looks like you need to be a teaching or research facitlity to purchase.

In my experience, the germoplasm is not only for doing research, but also for the common gardeners.

I, myself, have recieved cuttings last year and I only stated that I wanted to test the hardiness of the requested cultivars in my area and zone for an eventual commercial cultivation, later on, in the future.

Thank you, I am new to this forum and being in zone 2 I have been testing apples on hardy siberian rootstock.I was looking at Clair J Lammers apple site in Alaska and he has some interesting apple varieties that survive in his 2a zone that are in the gene bank.
