We had gummy stem disease (GSD) in 2013 through seed from neighboring plants.
We fertigated actinovate from texas then to stop the aborting.

GSD commonly is diagnosed on the foliage, seen on stems and stalks or on mature fruits. But our early fruit infection comes through pollination with insects or with fruit flies directly into the baby fruit.
I could not find any literature, which describes this aborting without GSD seen on the rest of the plant.

What do i look for for this GSD? The plants seem healthy aside from the fruit withering

i have the same problem with my big max pumpkins (not growing so big). The vine is green and has big leaves that appear to be healthy. No mold this year! But the pumpkins only grow to the size of a colossal onion, stay yellow, and then the skin will start to thin and shrivel in a small spot and spread over the entire surface over a couple of days until the whole thing shrivels and falls off the vine..
