I had it, grew a few just to see what they looked like. I gave mine to someone who has more room to grow enough out for use as a dry bean. I found this bit of information that may or may not be useful.

That was interesting. I can't help thinking that if they're all that great of a bean they'd be more widely grown. I hate wasting space to grow a bean I might not like, lol. Especially a bush bean. But I guess I'll just have to grow them and see what they're like. Thanks Annette.

Haven't tried this one but would love to grow it out to offer seed. Sounds as though it's rare and needs saving. Thanks for the information, Annette. Bush or pole variety? Do you have a source?

Francis it's a bush bean, I bought mine from Richters back in 2009, grew a sample in 2010, gave all my seed to wolfcub (another canadian) on this forum. Try contacting her through GW, if that doesn't work get back to me and I'll put you in touch with her. Hopefully she still has them.

Just a heads up, I have it down as a bush bean in my records, but now I'm not sure, I only grew a sample in a tub, can't remember if I gave it a pole to climb on or not, so be prepared.

I have seeds of Gialet from an Italian donor. It was a pole bean for me and I think it's very special. For one thing I like to preserve local varieties which might be in danger of fading away, but also this bean is very tender and in a soup like this one (https://vgourmet.ca/2013/10/27/ancient-farro-soup-with-gialet-beans/) is delicious.

I'm UK based but would be happy to consider swaps if anyone is happy to risk the posting.
