I had to look up 'Butterfky Palm', here it's called Golden Cane, Dypsis lutescens. I get lots of seeds and seedlings from mine. They just fall when ripe. Green ones that fall have probably been broken off by some sort of animal or were knocked by something during windy conditions. Depending on how close to ripe they were they may or may not be viable. Those small black seeds in your photo don't look right and wouldn't be viable. Best to leave them until they're ready to fall by themselves. Then they germinate quite readily.
