We have a 6ft windmill palm that is about 6-7 years old. It has thrived beautifully but last winter was rough on it. We covered it as best we could when the temps dropped to 0 which is rare here. Some of the fronds died and we removed them last spring. It put out new green fronds from the center of the trunk but they never pushed all the way out, just look like they are stuck in the trunk. This winter hasn't been to bad so far but we have covered it and used a heat lamp and couple of nights when it got really cold just because it looks so pitiful from the damage last year. What fronds it does have are still nice and green but droopy. Does anyone know what the problem could be with the fronds nor coming out? It also did have nearly as much new growth last year as in previous years. We are so proud of how it has done, can't stand the thought of loosing it. It just looks like it is struggling.
