Is it fragrant?

It is supposed to be fragrant at night but I cannot detect anything. Maybe i am going in at the wrong time of night.

Lovely. I believe this is a relative to the Angraecums, ('I'll have to check it out.)

I am so impressed with what you are growing and flowering. Being in zone 5 isn't an easy task. Brings back so many memories.

Give it a few days and you should start smelling it at night. Good growing!

Thanks Jane. I also think it is an angraecum relative. The flowers have been open for about two weeka now, and i am still smelling nada. Maybe my sniffer is broken. Actually I wonder if there is a specific time it is fragrant. My Angraecum mystacidii has only fragrant at dusk and dawn. At least that is when i could detect it.

Could it be getting artificial light from somewhere at night, like a street light or something?

Someone told me once that some people can't detect the scent of cymbidium ensifolium. I don't know if it's true but the idea that people could smell the same flower and not detect the same thing was interesting.

Good questions Lumpy. There is no additional lights at night. We don't even hav streetlights, which i actually miss somtimes.

It is very possible i can't smell it for some reason. My sense of smell is generally geat but i had a hard time smelling something at one of the society meeting. I think it was a Cattleya tricolor. Most people said it smelled like bacon. I could barely smell anything and thought i smelled baby powder.
