Judging by the number of responses, I guess this a pretty uncommon variety. I'm pleased to report that another grower I trade seeds with (in Romania) has located seeds. So, with this post, maybe I can bump this one down the list.

Looks like a Landrace I grew 1 year.
It had no name...A market pepper.
I don't remember the source or peppers origin,just the upturned pods.
Rare for a commercial pepper in general.

I probably have seeds under no named landrace from wherever.

It's been a few years since I grew it.
IF in fact I'm thinking about the same pepper...

Is that a local / Majorca name or what it is always known as from other places that either grow it or use it?

I stumbled across a reference to this pepper by chance. A Google search didn't help much because a lot of the articles were in Spanish, which I can't read! Apparently, the powder is used in Majorca to spice up a famous local Balearic sausage. Here are a couple of links:

Adrian, in Romania, saw my post about it and did some digging around. He tells me he has been promised seeds from a couple of sources. Also, he told me he plans to send seeds to you as well as me!

I think you are correct that it is a landrace variety and it does have upturned pods, so it's probably the one you grew.

By the name of it, it does sound like one of those Italian/Spanish varieties.
