While I've never grown that variety before, from here the plant looks very healthy. I do know that some of the varieties that have darker chilis also darker leaves. Google a "black pearl pepper" and you'll see what I mean.

Thank you I see what you mean, however these seeds were from my ghost pepper planted last spring and the peppers are red. I do agree they all appear to be healthy.

I think it's just "sunburn" which I've only ever seen from artificial light. I wouldn't worry.

As mentioned the color can be due to variety. But what you have in the picture looks like phosphorus deficiency. I had couple of varieties last year (growing under light ) looked similar to yours. The rest were normal.

I'd have to agree with Chuck. Same thing happened to a couple of my seedlings last year, and I panicked. Turns out those few were just a little bit taller than the rest, and closer to the light. I'm no expert, but my guess is sunburn as well. I wouldn't worry too much about it, should be fine.

My experience would indicate that this isn't sunburn. When working with plants that weren't hardened then thrown out in the sun, the leaves started to turn very light in color then eventually turned a bright yellow and fell off--quite the opposite of your photos.

I've never experienced leaf burning from light when using grow lights--in my case, the leaves instead started growing very small and the plant very stubby to minimize light intake.

Wow, thanks you. I have 258 of these plants and I started them in a organic seed started and then re-potted into a organic potting soil. A good brand. I have attached another picture should I toss all the brownish one's or can I save them.

Just looks like suntan to me. Peppers naturally darken their leaves when exposed to long durations of very bright light. They basically suntan for the same reason we do.

Try moving them further away from your lights, or reducing the amount of time that your lights are on.

I agree with the light tanning effect on them. As I said before , last year it happened to just to a few varieties of mine.

So I would reduce the duration of the lights or increase the distance.
