The one on the right seems to be a Futura, while the smaller one is a Hahnii.

Fred, the one on the left is officially called 'Hahnii Marginated'.

If you grow a plant from a leaf cutting, it will be a plain Hahnii without the yellowish margin. Hahnii propagates true from it's own leaves.

I think your taller one is actually Futura Simplex since it has a very wide margin. Regular Futura's margins are much more narrow.

A plant grown from a leaf cut of Futura Simplex will be the same thing but without the variegated edge. If I'm not mistaken this plant would be called Robusta. Leaf cuts of it would propagate true.

I should say that S. trifasciata 'Robusta' shouldn't be confused with the species S. robusta, an entirely different critter altogether.

Awesome to "see" you hear again!! Russ is a wealth of knowledge on cultivars here. Russ it will not go above freezing this week in NJ and the blizzard is starting. Hope weather is better there! Sans and I staying inside as much as possible!

The smaller one I don't believe is a Hahnii. I think it is just a young plant. I purchased this one from a grouping of small sansevieria, which the majority of plants had a wider
base to there leaves causing me to guess they are futura.
Hence I am pretty sure that my little guy is the same as everone else in that grouping. But who knows, maybe this summer I'll find out it actually is a hahnii, LOL!

Let us know what your smaller trifasciata turns out to be, Hahnii or Futura.

Chris, I didn't get notification there were responses on this thread, just getting used to how Houzz works. It's been cold here too, in fact tonight will be the coldest in several years at around 28, and will be a record. But can't complain given the cold you folks up north have experienced this winter.

Yes, good to see you here as well Chris. I needed some winter plant therapy so I thought I'd see what was happening on the Aroid and Sansevieria forums. Not sure I like the new Houzz system though, kinda clunky if you ask me.

the plant in the background next to the Dallas Fern is a Hahnii. I've a lot of history with that plant as it is one of the clones I have from my original which came from my back yard in Florida
