Why don't you try the exact same experiment with red wigglers instead to see if they mix the soil as well as the Euros did. Let us know. Great experiment, I would have to see it to believe it as well!

My worms/vermicompost did that exact same thing to my 1/2 acre yard over a period of 5 years. And I'm talking about no more than an original inventory of 10 lbs of red wigglers purchased at the beginning of those 5 years.

From mediocre, clay-sh soil to beautiful dark, black, fertile, vibrant, healthy soil. All it takes is patience and faith (knowledge) of what is happening, because it IS pretty unbelievable it is gonna happen.

That's why I still do this after all these years.

Have faith in this SCIENCE!

LOL. Maybe I will sell the tractor when I teach the herd to skid logs and move dozens of yards of material exactly where I want it! I will avoid the possibility of a public flogging and not mention the plow and disc I still use in some places.

Certainly I can see evidence of their work as once fluffy uneven beginning material turns out looking flat even trays with nothing sitting on top of it to flatten it. In my worm factory the only tray that I will tend till/stir up is the bottom processing tray as I have 4 trays stacked on top of it so a lot of the worms have moved up but not all. So I will stir the mix checking to how many worms are in that tray and to see if there is is debris not yet used up. This also helps to know how close the harvest tray to being ready.

No, no, Nexev.....I keep the worms in the controlled environs of the bins where they produce more worms and poop than would ever be possible outside the bins.
