I don't think most of us are prepared to mail worms. I have given some away to local people who were able to come to my door to pick them up.

How much are they? I bought my EH from Uncle Jims and they were $40 for 500 with an offer on checkout for an additional 500 for $20 more, I doubled that for a total of 2000 for just over $125 shipped after discount. IIRC I found a coupon code for 10% off using google.

You can certainly start with a tub or even a few from walmart, I was looking for a quick out of the gate and had lots of places I wanted to put them.

Note that these are not the worms most use in indoor bins, I went with these because they look to be more suited to outdoor free living as in worming in the garden.
