anyone else get an email from Tamara?

Do you think it's real?
I've seen more convincing phishing emails, but the originating/reply address looks alright.....

I did and I believe I read yesterday that quite a few people did.

Look at thread(s) about Houzz for more discussion.

I guess I did but didn't open it. I never heard of Houzz. I don't open a lot of junk and never heard of Tamara. :)

Boy, everything is going down the tubes. The groups are dead. FB is alive but it's not really well suited to Q&A, more show and tell, IMO.

    My houzz is a mezz.

Lately, the pop up ads and sidebars have increased. There was contact info to ask GW on one of the threads about Houzz.
I used Ad Blocker, but it has to be refreshed often. I realized that posts with words appearing green are search terms that trigger an automated progr...m to attach ads on unrelated topics. I usually try to go back to change it.
When posting, the word AV is safe to use, but not the word pl...nt. We will have to chat in code to avoid triggering pop-ups. But with automated word correction features, that is not easy.

I didn't get an email, but when I just posted something in another forum, I was redirected to an announcement page that Gardenweb merged with Houzz. Hopefully the forums will improve (it says they will preserve them). I love the interaction, but the interface is very old and clunky.

The major change so far is all the intrusive ads. I was directed to the announcement, also.

I got something about Houzz merging with Gardenweb. Seemed pretty harmless though- something to do with home-decorating.

It was an email about a contest/draw asking to send my address so they could ship in case I won.
I reported it to GW and got an email back saying its legit. Still, seems like phishing, even if done by houzz/GW.

Joanne, the green words are actually caused by an adware/virus. I forget the name but it isn't hard to remove. Let me know if you need help finding out how....

Karin, Re the email, it is a gimmick to collect your email because GW said they won't give it out. So the only way Houzz can get it is if you give it to them. Suggest you let them know they can have it once you receive $500 in Canadian dollars. That's a special discount, just for them.
Sure, I'd welcome your help. I've been struggling with this for months on all devices, Mac or PC. Glad I finally mentioned it. Thanks, J

Thanks. I read that email carefully and decided not to respond.

I didn't know what those green things were but now I got rid of them (knock on wood). Thank you. I don't think i've noticed it anywhere but here though.

(Adchoices I think is the painware)
