You can actually use your cuttings from your current plants. Then, for local trading, trade with others who have different colors that you might like. You can trade the cuttings or the plants that you have now rooted and potted.

I have been very blessed this year with gifts of roses and gift certificates for roses.

I just received an order from For Love of Roses. The box was damaged in transit and three roses had several stems broken off leaving only a main cane. I did strip those of leaves to use the stems for cuttings and hopefully they will take. When I first opened the roses I was amazed at how big they were for new roses but found the damage later when I was ready to pot them.

I notified the company about the box damage and damage on the first rose I noticed. They weren't insured I assume because the company said they almost never get positive results filing a claim with the post office. They didn't offer to replace them so I didn't notify them of the other two damaged roses. I am sure they will recover though because they look healthy. They've just lost some growth.
