It's different. I think we should have expected change. Seems like many are having problems getting in if you look at the related discussions. I imagine there will be learning curve. The old format hadn't changed for years. They are just keeping us on our toes!!

I had trouble logging in. They said that my user name was taken and changed me to maind_gw. I guess we will get used to it. As long as we don;t lose any of our friends.

I had a horrible time trying to log in, I've been trying for several hours, I kept getting an error and I finally found a reply hidden in promotions in my email. I think I'm here legitimately now but I don't like change, change always means trouble!!!
We'll see what happens when I try to post a picture.

Here I am again and I'm not particularly happy that you can't review your message to see if you've made some mistake and if you have I don't believe they'll let you edit it like before. Am I wrong? I really liked that feature.

I guess we'll get used to it, it's just hard to teach an old dog new tricks!☺

Well....there ya go! You can't add a photo as easily from photobucket like you used to! I had to drag this from my computer's c: drive. :-(

Donna...you can edit or delete your post....see the pencil icon in the upper right corner, that's "edit". The X will delete your post.

Ok, there it is, it doesn't show up until after you've pushed submit, I guess I'm all set now, like I said, tough for old dogs to learn new tricks!!

Whoa. Quite a shock to head in and see a new format. I've never heard of houzz before. Looks like a major online store. Why would they want to take on Gardenweb?

Didn't you notice the shopping cart?? ;-)

    I like the "Like" button.

Akkk...every time you "like" a post, that person gets an email!! Thank goodness there's an opt out option!!!

N-o-o friends, I did not suffer long. But I had to change the password. In the change of joy of course not. And who interfered with the old format? So, Donna, and others, I agree with you. But what to do? Because the server is not ours, we want to use it - we have to obey. :(

My old brain cannot find a "Search" thingy in this new format. Is it gone? That shopping cart scares me. Haha!

Maria, up at the top there is a big search field. As you start to type, it will give you the option to search ONLY in the Amaryllis forum. TRICKY!

I've been sending feedback to houzz. Today, I received a bit of good news.

"The colors will now change your visited posts."

It's a bit more difficult to find the things I want.

*.every time you "like" a post, that person gets an email!!*

Yes, but in the first e-mail below you can disable notification of receipt of comments in two versions. I did it - why cram E-mail messages?

Oleg, yes I also disabled that option!

    Another bit
of news for those who enjoy having some creative options when posting. Although we will no longer be able to use
HTML code, Houzz is “working on adding a rich text
editor to the forums and hope to have it available soon.”

just forget everything you knew and learn the new way. HHHz will keep making modifications.

this might be a silly question....but how do I include multiple photos in one post? Thank you (Donna) !

    Chin,

You can attach up to 4 photos. You just report attaching photos until the ones you want are in the message.

Click photo icon...wait for the photo to appear.

Move your cursor below the photo. Then click the photo icon again...and repeat.

    Want another...repeat....

    Ok...there ya go!

    Thank you, Kristi!

I knew either you or Donna would know.

Well, I just click on the "Houzz Photo" below and I click on the word browse on the right hand side of the appearing "page" which sends me to my documents where I choose the picture I wish to post, and after a few seconds it appears in the square on the right and you can then see if it is the correct photo you want to post before you click submit. These pictures have to be on your computer, not in a photo storing site such as Picasa or PhotoBucket and you can repeat this scenario 4 times as Kristi says.

Well, I just posted 5 pictures and I think I may be able to post more, lets see, one more...

Well, there were 6 photos posted, lets see if when I click on submit whether they all appear.

Hope I have been of some help...Donna

Well, it appears that you can post as many pictures as you wish, all 6 went through and I didn't have to resize any of them.

I guess they are changing rules as they go. It had been 4! Good that you can post more. Maggie is cute.

While I was trying to research why I was unable to post a picture here using the photo button below, I read where they have changed the posting limit up to 10. But...I still can't! :(
