No post date on new format

I like a post date on the forum so it's easy to spot a new post.

I can agree with that. It's nice to know if the original post is new, or if someone commented on and dragged up an old post. Oh well, we will get used to it I suppose.

That's a negative, IMO. You won't know whether it's a reopened old post or a new post, only how long ago a response was posted.

I wonder if new posts without responses stay "sticky" for awhile like they used to on GW or if they'll be bumped down the line under replied posts? I liked the old way better. It gave better odds of getting responses. I foresee lots of "bump" to posts to get something to the top of the line again.

Okay, I do see now where the original post date is; clear to the right. For instance, the faucet height thread that was brought up is clearly marked to be posted originally in November 2013. The most recent response date/time is under the thread title.

Walker--I just went in several pages and see dates and times of posts. Is that what you are looking for?

Lisaa--you can sort how you want posts to appear. One of the options is unanswered, which would equate to GWs posts staying on top. Now if we can figure out how to delete the trolls that post!

Trying to find the positives to these huge changes. :)

Walker99sl is NOT my GW post name. Argggghhh! I'll figure out how to change it. Pain in the a***.

Thanks for the heads up, nhbaskets, but it seems that it's an either/or situation. Either I see only unanswered posts - and I see *all* unanswered posts going back months - or I see recent activity. I can't see unanswered posts at the top followed by recent activity.

There are going to be a lot of posts that need answers sinking to the bottom very quickly. And a lot of "bumps."

About the only thing I'm glad about at present is that it's still a relatively clean format for reading. As for the rest ... not finding the positives yet. I lost all my clippings! That was years of work and they're gone because I kept them private. Damn and blast.

Sorry to hear that Lisa. Hopefully you can contact someone like Tamara to see if they can be recovered.

As for changing usernames, I had an existing Houzz account so a new one with gw at the end was created. I went into my original Houzz account and changed my first name that is public to nhbaskets and then deleted my last name. Hope that helps and works for you.

To report spam, the little flag in the upper right corner. Also, an option for "I just don't like it". I guess that's the thumbs down button.

There's a thumbs down button? I don't see that or the date of a post anywhere.

I don't see the date either, just how many minutes ago the reply, er, comment was made.

I can't find any post date either. I wonder if I'll stay here...........

I see either a "5 hours ago" tag or, on older posts, the date of the post.

But on the main page, only the info for the most recent response is displayed - can't see when the thread was started until I click into it.

I'm seeing the original post date in a column clear to the right of the page. Is anyone else?

Yes, I am, too, nancyjwb. I think I figured out the date thing. On posts before today, you get the actual date. Since this particular discussion just started today, we get how many hours ago it started. I'm betting that tomorrow we'll see the date for today instead of "5 hours ago".

You're right, Nancy. On.my phone, I can't see the dates/times unless I scroll to the right.
