Yes it does! My old account wouldn't even work anymore! Had to register again.

It's just commercial reality. Houzz took over Gardenweb to increase their market and increase their profits. Gardenweb is being brought into line with their other products rather than just "change for the sake of change".

I had trouble as well getting onto this new site, wouldn't let me log in with my old name despite me confirming the account. They ended giving me a totally different user name which I changed something closer to the original. They said the original was taken.

How do I delete my membership from this?

1.they changed it because it may have looked ok on outside the inside was full antiquated patch code that would be a nightmare to maintain.

2. if houz did not take it over it would have gone same way that ivillage went, which was to be shutdown.

so be thankfull houz decided to take over since it better then the alternative.

Its ok. Like grid says,at least we have it and its free. My only wish is that they had a darker background. On LCD monitors its overly bright. Blindingly bright.

I haven't posted on garden web in a while but I check up on here every few weeks and I was shocked to see the new format. I kind of like it a bit. Looks like posting pictures is much easier and Houzz is a pretty decent website so if I ever have ideas for my yard I want to express, I can link the photo really easily. I like the "like" feature too.

Kind of a sudden change though, and I agree with everyone's issues with it too. Not crazy about the size, I keep having to zoom in my screen to see properly.

I can't imagine that a drastic change was so smart on their part because its pretty reasonable for people to be turned off by it.

I don't care for the new format much either. I tried to confirm my account a few weeks ago and gave up. Had some time this morning and gave it another try.
