I still haven't gotten Houzz to accept my old name, they claim its "taken" by someone else. I even clicked the box when I signed on saying to display my Garden Web name, but it hasn't.
Sangaree is the name used on my registered show dogs, from an old Southern Plantation. Book and movie about it, similar to Gone with the Wind. :o). And I use it on all my online places, except for Holidays.
How many of you in our Holiday Gang are on Facebook? I'm wondering if we should start our own Group there too, if enough of us hate these changes to our Forum. Its easy to post pictures on FB, and they remain in a photo album there so also easy to refer to any time. One of us just has to start a Group, and decide if we want it public or Members Only by Invitation. I already belong to two FB holiday decorating Groups as a couple of others do too, and while I like them there are issues for me. They have gotten so big and its nearly impossible to keep up with pictures and posts unless you check them AT LEAST ONCE a day. Things move too fast for me, even as much time as I spend on the computer. In fact, I had to "turn off notifications" as my own Timeline was swamped with their posts. So now I can go see these Groups when I want to instead of having to wade thru them on my page. One is Christmas at Home and Other Holidays, with 819 members at present. Its a private group where you get invited to join. The other is our own sweet gal's, Aike's Attic. She does a great job, holiday decor as well as a lot of other stuff in her Attic! Her's is also an 'invite only group', and has 853 members at moment. You can see from the amount of members in both these, why there is so much going on!! Can you imagine over 800 people posting HERE? And while the folks on both seem really nice and I enjoy their posts, it doesn't, and can't, feel like the little "family" we have here. Anyway, something for you to think about and let me know if you'd like to have our own little FB Group. It wouldn't mean you couldn't be here on HOUZZ too of course.
hugs, Karen
