Thank You Tamara, Emily Hurley, Doug Durando, Ofir Zwebner, et al.

It has been a long day, for us Garden Web members dropped into an unfamiliar neighborhood, and even more so for you trying to familiarize so many with the site. I don’t know all of your names, but it seemed someone from Houzz frequently visited every one of the GW topics I read today. Thank you for your efforts to make us feel welcome and your patience while helping us learn how to navigate the site.

    Agree!

I'd like to add my thanks too. Your responsiveness to adding features has been amazing. Maybe it's because I'm a Houzz member, but I was navigating around the forum without a problem within a half hour. I know some people liked the old GW format, but I didn't join GW because of it for years, even though I was a new gardener. Finally joined when I did a kitchen remodel and have been hooked ever since. I only use Houzz for the great photos. ;)

I agree! Thank you for the reassurances I've seen in the threads that I have read so far. I actually like this new format. Only "arrived" here a couple of hours ago so still learning the ins and outs. Overall, I like it. The ease in posting alone is a huge plus!

I have noticed some requests already being granted. Thank you!

I agree. I think a few tweaks are in order but overall, this is an improvement.

I want to echo my thanks. Your responsiveness and speed has been impressive.

Thanks from me too, it's growing on me.

And I would like to add that, having been battling the absolute WORST forum on the Web, the HomeAway Community forum, which is so poorly designed and poorly moderated (it's like being in China: Be careful what you say…and think…and feel), I am very impressed by how GW and Houzz collaborated to make this rollout as smooth as possible, including the impressive seemingly snafu-free software. I think that's actually a feat!

I'm impressed by how they had a good number of people here ready to respond to us, esp. those who struggle with the change.

It was, in fact, GW I suggested HomeAway look at as an example of a very well-run, appropriately moderated Web Forum. I love professionalism (not seen enough nowadays) and competence (ditto). This rollout was teeming with both.

Awww, guys! Thanks! That means so much. We really appreciate your patience and you all deserve a pat on the back for jumping in and helping each other out. I know there have been some bumps, but I'm thrilled that you are finding your way.

I'll add my thanks as well. Tamara, thank you for replying promptly to my email about truncated posts, telling me that it should be resolved soon and inviting me to send specific URLs.

It's nice to see some of the good neighbors from the GW board right here in this thread.

I add my thanks to those above. The joint owners of Houzz and Gardenweb have gone many extra miles to make this transition easier and I appreciate it very much.

Last night I hated it. This morning I hated it. Then I realized that all my friends from GW are still here. Once I decided to make the best of it I started seeing that it's not so bad. I think in a few days I will feel as at home in this format as the old one. I even see some features that are better. It is much easier posting here than on our old forum. We probably won't see double posts because of this change. I'm smiling!

Forgot to say thanks to Tamara and the rest of the team. Thank you all for being so responsive to the issues we were having, I appreciate it.

I'll add my thanks too. Tamara was quick to respond to my questions and it seems like Emily must have been on every forum. I even saw posts from them both late last evening. I've adapted to the new format and actually find it user-friendly. The responsiveness with already making requested changes is very reassuring that Houzz wants us GWers to be happy in our new home.

I agree, thanks are in order. I emailed Tamara last week with my concerns about losing archived GW content, and I was so pleased with her fast and friendly reply. Last night I went to bed worried again, after discovering the truncated post issue. But this morning I found that Tamara had already posted a reply to my question...saying that the truncated posts can be restored, in time.

It's only been two days. The responsiveness to our requests really impresses me, because they seem to be listening and reacting so quickly. I really appreciate it, and it makes me feel a lot less pessimistic about the future of our community. Thanks folks, for helping us wade through our worries.

A huge thank you to this team! I had a few snafus trying to get my Houzz and GW accounts to sync. I ended up sending an email to ask for help. A few hours later, it all fixed itself, so I sent another email letting them know I was all set. Tamara actually emailed me back to say she was happy it worked out. She didn't have to do that - but how nice that she did!

I am still waiting to hear back on merging my accounts. I imagine they are getting a lot of emails.

Hi dekeoboe - They've been working hard on a tool to merge accounts and I think you'll hear something back shortly. Thanks for understanding and being so patient!

Good grief, Tamara, do me a favor and walk on over to HomeAway and knock some sense into their heads about how to run a Web forum! I'm no schmoozed, so believe me when I say, GW is such a well-run and managed forum. Going from one to the other is like going from the front line of a war to a beach in the Seychelles!

You get a high 5 from here, too! Thank you!

And because I am always on an iPad....thanks for the way I can touch the outside border to scroll without getting sent to every ad or post over there!!

On another forum, I am constantly going to ad's I do not care about, and on the old GW, I would wind up on one of the highlighted posts from who knows what forum!!

    Thanks, everyone!
